The fabricated story of Cinemas entertainment aka lawndale 1
How it started...
Sycamore Entertainment Group announced the acquisition of a multiplex cinema in Chicago in 2018. Also, the stated that they have acquired the company Cinemas Entertainment LLC. Edward Sylvan also stated that they received city funding from the mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel.
The financial background
The interesting part is that Sycamore Entertainment claimed to have acquired Cinemas Entertainment, a company owned by Henry R. Leong, with cash sourced by Viet Capital, a company owned by Henry R. Leong.
How it went on...
After a while, people started to ask questions as there was no official press release and no entry in the filings about the real estate property nor the company acquisition.
People started researching
And then somebody asked the Mayour of Chicago's office if there was an official funding for the esports facilitys planned by Edward Sylvan.
How it ended...
People figured out that the allegedly owned building was for sale and that no city funding was given to Ed by the officials of Chicago. It was all lies shared by Edward Sylvan.
The Excuse...
A couple of months later, Edward Sylvan claimed to have moved on to another project - the sponsoring of junior basketball in Canada.
